ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Mary!  I'm a quilter who loves to make quilts that will be used and loved.  Like many others, I found myself with a stack of quilt tops just waiting to be turned into quilts.  I bought my HandiQuilter longarm and haven't looked back.  My favorite part of quilting is when the quilt is "done!"  Having a longarm with the ProStitcher means the quilts can be finished even faster.  We all love that quilty texture.  I'd love to work with you to choose the pantograph design or custom quilt your handmade creation.

I named my business The Basting Stitch because that was the very first stitch that my grandmother taught me when I was young.  I have very fond memories of when I was little sitting on our front porch sewing with her and my 2 great-aunts.  They taught me many stitches but said my basting stitch was really good!  (I didn't know until I turned 40 and started quilting that the basting stitch was the one you ripped out lol).  However - they always made me feel wonderful when we sewed together.
